Dawit Cherent is an Ethiopian singer, songwriter, and producer who started sharing the music he created for himself at the age of 20, by releasing his first English EP, “Humble,” in 2017. Dawit then gained recognition for his distinctive indie sound that incorporates Ethiopian flavor. Since then, he has released four EPs: “Humble,” “SEW,” “In Pursuit Of,” and “Yemedrebedaw Tibeb”; one album titled “Sew Pt.1 – Mot”; and a critically acclaimed single track, “Ye Abay Lij.”

Dawit enjoys working with unique African/Ethiopian traditional and spiritual sounds, blending them with indie and R&B styles. His lyrics poetically contemplate the deep philosophical and spiritual questions of us humans, and our akin yet alien journeys.
